ANNOUNCEMENTS (MONDAY 9TH JAN - FRI 13TH JAN 2012)
1) HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL!!
2) If you haven't received your new LCA Student ID card, you will need to go to Faculty Office (Room 401) to collect it. Your old ID card is no longer active so if you do attempt to swipe in and out with it, your attendance will not be recorded.
3) We are currently in the process of getting together ideas for an END OF EXAM SCHOOL PARTY. If you have any ideas, or would like to be a part of the END OF EXAM SCHOOL PARTY committee, please come and see Lisa to discuss any ideas you may have. We are currently considering the day of University of Wales Student's Final exam, which is Thursday 26th April 2012.
3) Thank You to everyone that made an appearance at the Fresher's Christmas Ball. Everyone had an amazing time! Pictures will be displayed on the 4th Floor Student noticeboard shortly.
ANNOUNCEMENTS (MON 14TH NOV - FRI 18TH NOV 2011)
1) ATTENDANCE - Remember that as of the start of next term, the attendance rules will change as per the following:
a) 10:01 will be counted as "LATE" and 10:31 will be counted as "ABSENT"
b) The attendance personnel will no longer give out attendance records to students
Students who are supposed to be in class will not be seen for administrative functions.
2) ARU TEACHING: Classes begin again on the ARU Programmes (BA (Hons) Applied Accounting & BA (Hons) International Business Management) on Monday 23rd January 2012
3) RESULTS & ADDRESSES: Formal exam results and transcriots will be sent by post, so please be certain to update your address and contact details when you speak to a memeber of staff or student advisor when you register for classes next term.
4) UNIVERSITY OF WALES TEACHING: The final university of Wales classes before term break will be held on Monday 21st and Tuesday 22nd November 2011. Classes begin again on Monday 9th January 2012.
5) STUDENT COUNCIL: The Student Council has elected officers for the 2011/12 Academic Year. These are: SAM WOOD: PRESIDENT; RACHEL KERR: VICE PRESIDENT; MUHAMMAD ASLAM: SECRETARY & BOTH ETHAN-MONTGOMERY CREIGHTON & AFRA HARWOOD: REPORTERS! Please see any of the Student Council members to have a voice in how the School is run
6) EXAMS: Remember to bring your photo ID for your exams. You will not be able to sit for the exams without it! The ARU Undergraduate exams perioud is from Friday 25th November 2011 until Friday 2nd December 2011.
7) QUIET STUDY: This is a pre-exams reminder that the Library can be used only as a "QUIET" Study Room.
8) MODULE FEEDBACK FORMS: Forms for both LCA & ARU will be distributed this week for completion in class. This should take no longer that 15 minutes and is a requirement for both institutions!

The FRESHER'S CHRISTMAS BALL will be held on

Literally a 3 minute walk from Charterhouse Street campus.
All LCA Undergraduate "FRESHERS" are welcome.
Tickets are £10 which will admit you only, and limited tickets at £15 which will admit you plus a NON LCA Student
(a friend outside of College).
Strictly NO ID, NO ENTRY and is a TICKET ONLY event!

Please note that we are selling tickets on a first come, first serve basis - so get your tickets as soon as possible to avoid disappointment! You do not want to miss out!
2) Our Neighbours (DeBeers) at Charterhouse Street have asked us to remind students and staff that they shouldn't stand near the air intake for their building when taking a smoke break. This is located on the South side of the steps and the smoke enters their building and causes stress to their employees. Please move further along Saffron Hill and keep to our side of the street (Saffron Hill) when the Nicotine need calls.
3) Students are reminded that they should not attempt to complete administrative tasks when they are supposed to be in class. The administrative staff on the Ground Floor have been informed to check all student's schedules prior to serving them.
4) On the ARU programmes: Postgraduate Teaching ends this Friday 11th November 2011. Undergraduate subsequently ends on Friday 18th November 2011. Check with your instructors for whether there is additional work or materials required for study / exam preparation.
5) A reminder from the ARU Faculty Department that all assignment submissions must have coversheets and be accompanied by a receipt, both of which are printed from E-Vision. They also ask that all ARU students check for "Re-registration" tasks required on E-Vision.
6) Do you know who your Student Council Representatives are? The very first Student Council meeting is this Thusday the 10th November 2011 at 17:00. See your representatives for agenda items.
7) The ARU Undergraduate exams period is from November 25th to December 2nd 2011 and the Postgraduate exam period is November 25th to November 28th 2011. Exam dockets with your examination details will be sent by post before the end of this week. Remember to bring in your ARU / LCA (PHOTO ID) for your exams. Failing to do so will mean you cannot sit for your exam.
8) The Student Society's "LCA FACTOR" talent competition will be held on Friday 18th November 2011 at 18:30 here at the Charterhouse Street campus. Auditions are held on Tuesday 15th November 2011 and you can register as a: Solo Artist; Group; Duets; Trios, you can play an instrument but you must provide your backing music. Details and entry forms can be obtained from the Registrar's Office on the Ground Floor.
